Geomantic reading for the week commencing 12th March 2012

Albus -> Amissio

Albus is in the fourth house, semi-sextile to Amissio in the third in a contracting pattern.

Albus is associated with the intellectual and communication aspects of Mercury.  Amissio is concerned with the negative side of Venus: vanity, showiness and (most importantly) loss.  A semi-sextile is a weakly good aspect.

Interpretation

You have a clear cut choice this week.  If you do nothing, you could end up losing out.  In order to come out ahead you will need to actively start doing something new.  The significant situation concerns the home, possibly parents or other elderly relatives, but more likely the physical place you call home.  Expect some lively discussions about changes here.  Hopefully you will be able to bring your wisdom to bear on someone’s ideas for ‘improvements’.

The chances are that this will spill over into other areas around the home too – possibly involving neighbours and others around the home.  Perhaps you will feel that your inspiration has dried up over the matter, but in fact you will know exactly what needs to be done – do the job in front of you.  In other words, it will simply involve you rolling your sleeves up and getting on with the task.  That’s the choice: do nothing and risk losing, or get stuck in and reap the rewards on your terms.  That way you’ll be able to say “If I’m doing it, it gets done the way I want it done!”

Geomantic reading for the week commencing 5th March 2012

Fortuna Major -> Acquisitio

Fortuna Major is in the third house quincunx to Acquisitio in the tenth in a continuing pattern.

Fortuna Major is associated with the Sun, and Acquisitio with Jupiter.  A quincunx is a mildly difficult angle.  The third house is concerned with communication and short journeys and the tenth house is concerned with your career and public standing.

Interpretation

The Sun in the third indicates that something you have been working on for a long time is going to show great signs of bearing fruit!  It is possible that after a short journey or, more likely, a quick exchange of information (emails?) that you will be able to see some movement.  It may take a little while, but it is definitely showing signs of spring growth. New ideas will be flowing out of you and you’ll feel like you can really make a difference.

This will show up mostly at work (or in your avocation) where there is the possibility of gain and significant expansion of your operations.  It is good to aim high, but don’t be surprised if people think you are too ambitious.  It’s just that they don’t see with the vision that you have.  Notice particularly how the two taps (dots) on the second level of Fortuna Minor travel down from level two (the realm of ideas) to level three (the realm of action and urges). You may be surprised how easily your thoughts can be translated into actions, despite a slow start.  Keep plugging away and vistas will open for you!

Geomantic reading for the week commencing 27th February 2012

Rubeus -> Populus

Rubeus in the second house is trine to Populus in the fifth in an expanding pattern.

Rubeus is associated with the planet Pluto and Populus is linked with the full Moon.  The trine is a very good angle to have in the chart.  The second house is concerned with emotions and small possessions and the fifth is concerned with creativity and love.

Interpretation

“What a week – phew!”  That’s probably what you’re going to be saying at the end of it! Something or someone has been making you hold your tongue for some time now, but this is about to change – and how.  This is a very active time – spring has sprung and things need to be sorted out.  There’s lots of new growth around, and that applies to your feelings, too.  There’s a new start for you and things are going to progress rapidly in your favour.  Rubeus (and Pluto) are associated with revolutionary change and upheaval and the single dot in the second place (your thinking) finally gives way to create Populus.  Old thinking and ideas are swept away in the full dash to realize your goals.

Populus represents completion and fullness, the nurturing feminine principle.  Look for a strong female influence and some keen intuition to keep you on the straight and narrow. This is a time of achievement and great creativity as the fifth house is very sociable and loving.  With so much happening on so many fronts it’s good to see progress and resolution in a few areas of you life.

Geomantic reading for the week commencing 20th February 2012

Puer -> Draconis Cauda

Puer is in the fourth house sextile to Draconis Cauda in the second in a continuing pattern.

Puer is associated with the planet Mars, which in the fourth house is concerned with matters to do with the home.  Draconis Cauda is associated with endings and is in the house of finance and emotions.  A sextile is a good aspect.

Interpretation

There are likey to be some changes at home, this week.  Things will be moving at a pace and emotions can run high, but at least matters are coming to some kind of head.  You still feel that you are having to put a lot of effort in, but finally you can see that you’re progressing.  Use the energy you have, but don’t let it boil over by wanting to change things too quickly.  Try and keep your temper.

If you just leave things to work out on their own without pushing you will do a lot better by the end of the week.  If you push too hard you will meet resistance.  This will not be necessary.  Everyone can see what the score is, so you don’t need to state the obvious. Leave things to themselves and everything will come to its own successful conclusion.

Geomantic reading for the week commencing 13th February 2012

Puella -> Fortuna Major

Puella is in the fifth house, opposite to Fortuna Major in the eleventh in an expanding pattern.

Puella is associated with the planet Venus, and Fortuna Major is associated with the Sun.

Interpretation

Sometimes you just can’t believe the coincidence.  It’s St. Valentine’s Day on Tuesday and here we have the planet of love in the fifth house (concerned with love, children, happiness and simple pleasures) and the Sun in the eleventh (concerned with friends, acquaintances, clubs and socialising)!  Is this a good week for all things loving and romantic?  I think the answer is a very firm ‘Yes!’

It only really remains to be seen how that opposition angle works itself out.  Perhaps things are not so easy to start off with, maybe you’ll have to compromise a little.  Whatever it is there seems to be some sort of barrier that needs to be got out of the way and then it’s all plain sailing!

The expanding pattern at the top level shows that inspiration (or possibly Cupid’s arrow) strikes and hits the target.  Once that happens everything else goes smoothly.  Don’t let this chance go by – make the most of the love you have to give and the love coming your way!

Geomantic reading for the week commencing 6th February 2012

Fortuna Minor -> Via

Fortuna Minor is in the eighth house square to Via in the fifth.  This is a contracting pattern.

Fortuna Minor is associated with the Sun, though not as powerfully as Fortuna Major.  Via is associated with the Moon in more of it’s new moon and negative aspect.

The eighth house is associated with other people’s money, wills, passion, death and magic.  The fifth house is associated with fun, children, love, sex, relaxation and enjoying life.

A square aspect suggests that this will be a trying time with some difficulties to overcome.

Interpretation

Fortuna minor in the eighth suggests that matters relating to other people – their property, possessions and money – are working out for you, or at least working in your favour, at the moment.  This will be particularly true if there is some service you are rendering to them or if the relationship you have with them is contractual.

Unfortunately this seems likely to undergo a set-back later this week.  For some reason you lose some of the impetus to help them particularly as you aren’t getting the support you need.  This can affect your inner equilibrium and make it difficult for you to unwind at the end of the working day and you may find communications with loved ones somewhat strained.  But fear not – this is all to the good!  Perhaps there needs to be a realisation on their part of just how much you do.  The end result of this is that the situation will then significantly improve for you.

A classic case of things getting worse before they get better, where ‘better’ here means simplifying and clarifying.

Geomantic reading for the week commencing 30th January 2012

Amissio -> Fortuna Major

Amissio in the seventh house semi-sextile to Fortuna Major in the eighth.  This is a continuation pattern.

Amissio is associated with the negative qualities of Venus (vanity, jealousy, harmful female influence) and also with loss of some kind.

The seventh house is concerned with relationships – mainly with people external to the family but will include marriage or other partner.

Fortuna Major is associated with all the positive qualities of the Sun (good fortune, good health, success).  It is concerned with making progress and also with new ventures.

The eighth house is associated with other people’s money, wills, passion, death and magic.

A semi-sextile is a weakly beneficial feature and the flow is showing a continuation, meaning no great change.

Interpretation:

There are two principle ways that Amissio can play out here.  Either that some malign female influence will cause problems for one of your relationships  OR that there will be an ending of a relationship with such a person.  So if everything seems hunky-dory with the relationships in your life at the moment then watch for some female about to muddy the waters.  If you are in a bad relationship with such a woman then now is the time to think about ending that relationship.

Fortuna Major and the continuing pattern suggest that things can only get better – not necessarily in a big or outward way, but there will be a significant improvement in tension, a real clearing of the air and getting things on an even keel again.  Keep an eye out for any more traps lying around.

Geomantic reading for the week commencing 23rd January 2012

Carcer -> Tristitia

Carcer in the eleventh house is in opposition to Tristitia in the fifth in an expanding pattern.

Carcer is associated with the planet Saturn – the planet of old age, restriction and limitation.  It is in the house associated with external friends, clubs, societies, enjoyment but in a more detached way.

Tristitia is associated with the planet Uranus – the planet of lightening quick changes, science and unpredictable events.  It is in the house of fun, pleasure, children and love.

They are in an expanding pattern, specifically in expansion associated with the top level: intuition, inspiration and external ideas.  But they are also in opposition, meaning that the interaction can be strained or perhaps just very challenging.

Interpretation:  The indication here is that you feel that there is something stopping your external contacts with people at the moment.  You can connect with them, but everyone seems mired in an unhelpful gloom.  But there is something good news in all this.  Even though they feel trapped their spirit is willing to keep on fighting and searching for a way out.  ’Bloody, but unbowed’, you might say.  This is going to be key.

Soon the mood will change, and it will change quickly – you need to be ready for it.  New information is likely to arrive and it should be acted upon with all due haste because it will be a positive move for you and the group.  Please be aware that not everyone will feel as inspired as you will, and it may take some time to shake them up and pull them along with you.  But they need the change as much as you do.  At first they may simply see it as more work.  But this could be a significant break from the routine.

Even what you consider to be ‘dead wood’ can be useful – if you put in the time to chop it, cart it into the house and use it to build a fire to keep you warm!

Geomantic reading for the week commencing 16th January 2012

Puer -> Albus

Puer in the tenth house is square to Albus in the first in an expanding pattern.

Note:  I am including some additional information this week (and for those following) so you can have a go at interpreting the symbols for yourself.  That way, you can see if you get a broadly similar interpretation to me or whether the broader interpretation works its way out in your life slightly differently.

Puer is associated with the planet Mars, and Albus with Mercury.

Tenth house is associated with career, social standing, etc.  The first house is associated with the person and the physical body.

A square between them is considered ‘not easy’ or perhaps ‘challenging’.  An expanding pattern shows that things will be improving, even though the square means it will be hard work.

Puer expands to become Albus at level 1 (the top), level 2 and level 4.  It contracts at level 3.

Interpretation:  There is a great deal of time and energy that you are putting into work at the moment – some of it is a real battle just to keep your head above water.  Tempers can be short and everyone has their own ideas about how things should be done.  You do have the happy knack, however, of being able to see both sides and to create peace and harmony for most of the time (except if someone directly criticises you – but fortunately that’s relatively rare).  This week is a chance for you to learn something, to take on some new responsibility and to gain experience.

You’ll find that you feel more inspired.  Ideas will come and the team-working will work – though not without some pushing from you.  But everybody seems to understand what’s required at last!  You may want, or have to, turn some of the project over to someone else to ‘drive it’ for a while.  While you may be reluctant to let go, I suspect that this is where you will learn something about yourself, or that in turning it over you make time for yourself to do something for you.

The energetic peacemaker progresses at work by being able to think more.
